Do blogs take away from forums

| Title: Apprentice Join Date: Mar 2006 Posts: 340 ![]() ![]() ![]() | I was checking out http://www.mtbr.com today. A Mt biking site with a very large forum. It looks like they just added some blog software to their VB forum. I saw alot of people blogging about stuff that would usually be posted in their "passion" forum. Kind of like a general forum. What do you think about user Blogs attached to forums. Does it take away from the forum?

It separates personal day to day ramblings from the other conversation. It's not a huge deal if these things make it into community chat really, but it gives the place a bit more focus that way. It also depends on the size and activity of your board I guess. Splitting it up to much can make smaller forums look bare | ||||
