Hello, im planning on starting a forum. I have the domain Facka.net and I have enough hosting. Im not sure what to have the forum about, I was thinking of having it as a gaming forum, but there is alot of other gaming forums. Any ideas?

Do something that you are interested instead of asking us what we are interested in.

Create a list of things you're interested in...With that list, take a look at the existing competition and figure out what unique tool or resource you could offer as that they existing forums don't have. Then create a plan and ask us what we think

If you want your forums to be successful and you want to enjoy doing it, then you need to create something that you're interested in.

Here are my idea's:
I was thinking of doing a motorcross forum, but there are a large number of these allready. So I think I will do snowboarding // skiing.

Name
I havn't decided on a name for the forum, but I am open for suggestions.

Competitors:
I had a google search for snowboarding forums/skiing forums. I didn't find many; I found SnowboardClub that is the biggest snowboarding forum I could find, http://www.snowboardclub.co.uk/ there isn't anything special about this forum. I found 2 other forums but theres had less than 100 posts. (http://www.snowboardingforum.com/ - http://www.skiingforum.com/)

Content
I will write articles about individual snowboarding/skiing equipment. I will also write reviews on some place's for skiing and snowboarding, giving a brief history about them, and basic facts. I will also provide a loads of images, and links to more information/sources.

We will also have articles about different forms of snowboarding and skiing. Eg. Freestyle...

The site will feature videos. I will also link to some nice video's related to snowboarding/skiing and link to them. (example: http://www.shralp.com/). This will provide a convienent way to find quality videos that the user may have never seen. I may also provide a brief summary about the video to further help the user find the video they are looking for.

The Forum
If I manage to get some more money I will buy vBulletin. Or I will run MyBB(More Likely)

Design
I will eigher design it myself or edit another template.

Domain & Hosting
I allready have some hosting to start off with until(if) the forum expands. I will be buying a .com or .net domain.

Revenue
Im not planning on making any money. Just enought money to run the forum, and buy vBulletin if I don't start with it. I am planning on having one image ad at the top of the image and text links on a sidebar.

Goals
1st month 300 uniques in the month, 25 members, 750 posts
2nd month 600 uniques in the month, 50 members, 2000 posts


Question: Is there a mod for MyBB, phpBB, ipb or vB? where I can add tags to certain topics and all of the topics with certain tags will also be in another forum (to keep all of the reviews together)
