Join Date: Jul 2006 Posts: 274  | Contest prize ideas needed Running a contest has been working for me in my current forum, so I'm going to try the same thing in the new TV forum I'm creating. Only problem is, I haven't a clue what to offer. I could try the first season boxed dvd set, but other than that, I'm drawing a blank. If you were a fan of a show, what would you want as a prize? Are DVDs really the only way to go? There's gotta be something else...  | ||||

| Well, if the forums about a TV show, then something related to the show would be best. I'm just thinking some of them would have the box sets already. Perhaps check ebay for some sort of cheap collectible items? Something not commonly found that most people wouldn't have which is related to the show | ||||

If you or somebody you know is graphically talented, then you could always create t-shirts and put them up on CafePress...You can give these away as prizes. You could even put your forum name and/or domain on them and receive free advertising in return! If you do this, you just want to make sure that they are shirts that people want to wear, of course...Not just billboards.

I had a real contest "free PS3 for 1000 posts" and members PM me saying it was a trick since no one win the prize. I set a date for them starting last december to January 2007. I wanted to give some one a new year present and none of them make it to 1000 posts. hahahaa

| I think any kind of merchandise related to the show is a good idea as long as it has some value. I think tshirts are a pretty good idea, and I would also include the dvd set as one of the prizes. Having multiple prizes makes it more likely users will participate because they have a greater chance of winning.

Join Date: Nov 2006 Posts: 182 | TV shows have their own merchandising, not only DVD sets and apparels, but also game boards, books, calendars, posters, signed photos of the cast... I would look into it, find what's being released soon, and then offer the item in your contest. | ||||
