| Title: Rookie Join Date: Feb 2007 Posts: 27 Location: Central New Jersey ![]() | Hi, Thanks for the suggestions so far, I checked out the link Will offered, and feel that word press bulletin isn't a way to go as their support structure is forum based and found many new threads from others went un-responded for quite some time, I do not mind email support in 24 hours, at least there you are guaranteed to get and answer, I will check Ryan's link and see if that is better but I have heard v.bulletin is quite expensive, but I should find some accurate pricing in Ryan's link Well what I am trying to do is set up a number of blog sites, where people can get information and of course leave comments, and then have a number of affiliate links, to themed shopping, and a place to communicate with each other as well, along with leaving comments on the blog, and of course generate some advertising revenues, as far as this concept is concerned, do you think it is better to have the forum as a sub domain to the main blog domain, or should the blog just have a permalink to the forum as a top level domain? Don't know which is the better combo as far as Google indexing is concerned! Thanks for any further suggestions! TSG! | ||||

thanks for the info but, unless i am reading this wrong, it is the opposite of what I want to do, i want the blog site to be the primary site and have the option to go to a forum from the blog site, from what i understand this bridge does the opposite, it allows people from the forum go to the blog with out re-signing up! But thanks for the link! TSG! | |||||

to do that it doesnt matter what forum software your using ![]() all you gotta do is edit the wordpress template (so easy.. go to the admin control panel (blogurl.com/wp-admin) and then presentation, select your theme, click sidebar, find where you want to add it and then put in the html for the forum (like www.adminfusion.com/forums) )so if you dont want to buy any forum software use some free one ![]() Is that what you mean? oh and to this: Quote:

| Title: Rookie Join Date: Feb 2007 Posts: 27 Location: Central New Jersey ![]() | Thanks again Will, But the reason for finding a specific compatible forum software is that the blog and forum will not require a user to register to both, the way I am hoping to do it is similar to the bridge software Ryan referred to, only it will allow a user to go from forum to bog, and not have to register again, I want them to be able to go from blog to forum with out having to register again! Some how by installing a bridge segment in the config file, and installing them in to the same mysql database they will share users, and some moderation functions, therefore minimizing maintenance! I have tried it out on a test forum and could not get it to work correctly myself. | ||||
