Still funny
Thanks Ryan, lol.

We only put the 'April Fool' text on after midday as originally it was just in the e-mail link (in the UK, if April Fool's are performed after midday, according to superstition, it's bad luck).

Glad you enjoyed it!

Soliloquy will become famous soon enough

Well, my little prank got a lukewarm reception... some loved it, some complained deciphering the Swedish Chef-erized text gave them a headache. And there were only a few scattered new posts today.

I think next year I'll have rubber chicken paratroopers take over the forum. Or maybe make it explode...

I attempted to do a fake moderator thread using the /you hack but it kind of didn't work. For some reason everybody saw my name where the /you was instead of their own name. So right away it didn't make any sense.

A forum I know got the admins and mods together to post a 'Ownership change thread' using a /you mod:
Quote:
have this opportunity to announce that the NovaTech Network will soon have a new owner. The network will soon be transferred to the ownership of bdude.

bdude has been selected as the new owner, as I no longer have the ability to run the network anymore. Tino was my first choice, but he refused due to time constraints.

We are certain bdude is the right person to run the network, after I leave. Tino will remain on as an admin

Nathan

Ryan and I pulled something off like this in one of our last projects. Here is the antics that ensued from it.

I remember hearing about that.

I did see not only some forums doing April Fools Day pranks, but a couple of blogs did some also, mainly Shoemoney and Matt Cutts. Mine reward goes out to Matt Cutts, his was very convincing.

I'm a bit late on this thread, but I was going to plaster Disney all over the site. I just didn't want my inbox to crash.
