What's missing in the world of forums today?

You know of forum posting services, forum administration services, forum hosting and much more, though what, in your mind, is missing from the line of services provided to forum administrators?

I'd like to gather your thoughts and ideas and discuss them more in detail, so please, allow me to pick your brains a bit .

Even if you feel a current service isn't up to par, feel free to metion that as well. Explain how you'd like it to be offered, what changes you would make on a personal level (and on a business level if applicable) and so forth.

If we knew what was missing, it would be a way to make money as it would be an open market so why would we give away the idea? Wouldn't it be much more sensible to keep the idea yourself and develop your own team to fill the void?

I never see the point in these threads as all it crys out is I can't think of anything give me your ideas.

The OP was far from a cry for ideas, it was simply posted to pick the brains of those around the community here at AF.

Simply because one has an idea does not mean they will be able to openly apply it. Why? Not everyone has the funding to do so. Not everyone has the knowledge or capability to do so either.

We are working to develop quite a few new ideas from users such as I mentioned above.

A similiar thread was posted elsewhere by another forum user and we contacted those users about their ideas and will be bringing some of them live and they will be taking in a share of the profit for allowing us to use the idea.

So please do not misunderstand the actual point of the thread and mistake it for a cry for ideas. I did find that rather insulting, whether it was directly or indirectly pointed at me.

Sometimes it's best to reach out and beyond than try to keep the idea all to yourself. Sitting on it will not bring you anything, applying it or finding someone that can apply it and partnering with them can.

So with that, if you do have an idea related to small business or online communities, you are more than welcome to contact me via PM here at AF. We've signed NDA's and will be more than happy to do so again .

I apoligise for my previous statement as I was in a rather picky mood and read just one too many threads from people trying to steal other peoples plan already today and took it out in the wrong place.

I have a couple of ideas that would be nice way to earn extra cash but would require alot of funding to get them made by people with the right skills. Maybes we could chat some time.

I don't think anyone meant any offence, it seemed to be more a reaction to what looked like an individual with no ideas of their own.

There are lots of admins here who i might be more willing to work with you if you gave a bit more detail about the company you represent, i'm assuming it's not the southernaccel.com in your sig as it's only like 3 days old and as you said you've had to use non-disclosure agreements before i'm guessing it's a well established company.

SouthernAccel is a new project that is being developed. I have personally signed 2 NDA's for the website for ideas shared by other forum members (not here at AF) and we will be developing those ideas. Agreements have been made as to what the profit-share will be for those contributing the ideas.

One specific idea that we're developing has yet to be marketed at all and as far as I know, it's never even been attempted (and I've done quite a bit of research to make sure).

What you see at SouthernAccel currently is a place-holder, not what the actual website will be, nor how it will appear .


As for ideas, they are more than welcome, simply contact me via PM here at AF or if you feel more comfortable, contact me via e-mail at jonathan@southernaccel.com.

If you have an idea and require an NDA, please provide basic details and attach the NDA as a DOC or TXT file. Please also include a fax number for such.

If you do not require an NDA and feel like sharing a few new ideas and want some input as to whether or not it's worth persuing, I'll be more than happy to speak with you over AIM or E-mail.

We've had quite a few looking to start-up a few new styling websites, however, that is not the direction we're looking to go in right now. There are some big competitors in this are and we're looking to enter area's that have small competition or are non-existant and market them.
