What do you offer to your member that makes you a better choice then your competitors ?

This would be a good topic to help everyone keep the guest that view your site.

I guess I'll go first..lol

I've always worked to get as much traffic as I can afford to my site with Google.
So I offer to members of X group the advantages of having live links to their sites in the sig space ( my site is targeted to admin and owners ) I also have the adsense revenue hack and it's only enabled for usergroup X and above.. so that any leachers that may sign up and happen to post.. won't make a dime from us

I try to offer the members several way to help their sites.. I think this could go for any niche.. if your site is about radio's, then offer all resources and tips for radios, places to buy them, the latest news about radio's.. Just good content.

I just added an arcade, but only myself and one of my friends play it..lol.. maybe a few more, but a small % compared to our member count.

In the past I had some link dir's with decent pr, I offered featured links to members, sorta like what I've done here..lol

I only allow downloading of attachments to user of X group, I try hard to get all the users that should be in the promoted group cuz then they get a rank image, and the name color changes.. makes them feel "part of the site"

oh, and I offer blogs to the users on our forum, it has a few users who have filled out out.. I need to really develop it a bit more for this to take off.

anyways... What do you do ? why should I join your site

It's simple. You just have to give your visitors a reason to join. Give them good content that is easy to find and easy on the eyes. Just build a community where people can communicate about the topic of your board and provide them with information they would expect from your forum and its topic.

I don't think I'm better than any of my competitors, I work hard on my forum just like other admins do

I'm pleased to say my forum is very popular and we will be celebrating our first anniversary in two weeks time. It's a fun place to join with frequent competitions. What I think makes my forum successful is...

I didn't mean it in that way Brandon. I was just trying to say that I don't feel I'm better than my competitors as I know all admins work hard with their forums. I just didn't word it like it was meant to be, sorry

Easiest way to entice them is make sure they are informed that members get access to more content then guests. And if they don't, do that! There's a lot of resources and tutorials and whatnot on ym graphics site that aren't viewable by guests, you have to at least register to see them. I make it a point to let guests know that so they have an idea of what they would gain from registering.
