What should i do

Hi guys i need advice. I run a site - http://www.theforumplanet.com and we have a massive amount of sub forums. I question now whether this is useful or not. I was thinking of merging everything into just 8 forums making it easier for people. Do you think this would be a advantage to the site or take away a unique aspect of the forum?

Im not sure what to do.

It doesn't look like you have enough activity for so many subforums. Yes, reduce/consolidate them and wait until you have enough posts and topics of a specific nature to warrant a new subforum or forum.

It would definitely be adventitious for you to merge the excessive amount of forums you have.

When you have a huge amount of forums on your board without the activity to justify them, a potential member will see what appears to be low to no activity. This will possibly cause them to simply move on to the next site.

My motto is to essentially start with one forum and add more to the board only when needed

What I'd do is totally revamp the entire forums.. If there's no activity in one forum why create so many sub-forums? Get rid of the sub-forums for now as they aren't needed right now.
