Need help
I need somebody to tell me what my options are with this:

A friend has an e-mail yahoo group. He has to give it up. I agreed to admin the group for him to keep it going. I hate yahoo-email groups. I want to move it over to a phpbb where I have my own board.

How can I move the 261 posts over w/o copying and pasting it? - which seems too labor intensive for my taste.

Thoughts and advice please?

I dont think there is any way to not copy and paste it because yahoo doesnt give you the database and you wouldnt be able to convert it to a phpbb database


I think you should just forget the 261 posts and start over

Nah i dont imagine yahoo would make that easy. I agree with the above just start over.....or if you are really keen do the copy paste thing.

When I moved to vB my previous host would not move the database so I had to copy & paste all the posts (a few hundred of them) because they were important to the site so I didn't have any choice

It took me 2-3 weeks but that included sifting through over 40,000 posts trying to find the ones that were important to the site. It was hard work but worth it in the end

Wow 2-3 weeks - well it shows how conscientious you are. I know I am going to wind up copy & pasting because I feel like it the right thing to do and I just hate those yahoo groups.
