Another MFA site out to spam the internet, here goes some of the respect I had for few individuals here

Oh yes, one thing I have noticed is the fact those feeds you are reusing have user ids which actually are email address, don't know about the privacy policy of newsgroups but I wouldn't like it if my email address is posted on another site without my approval.

What we are planning is not just a MFA type site. These tools could definitely be used to create a MFA site, no doubt about it...What cobby is proposing is creating two main sections in the forums

1) Locked archive where usenet posts are imported
2) Unlocked area for visitors from SE's to register

The first section gets indexed by search engines and that is what brings in visitors. The second section is where the visitors become members and thus a community begins. Again, not your traditional forum...It's not how I would choose to start up a new forum, however, that said, there are a lot of people here who are interested in seeing exactly how this works and whether or not this works, myself included. I'm not doing this to make a quick buck or to deceive thousands of searchers, I'm doing it so that we can all get some insight into what's actually going on here. It's something new that I've never really seen done before, and I feel like part of my duty here at AF is to inform our visitors on what's going on in the forum industry.

When all is said and done, I'm going to recap my experience...I'll tell you whether or not it works. I'll tell you whether or not it is profitable and whether or not I think it is "right" or "wrong". Just by doing this I am not saying that I condone it or that it is the right thing to do, because I'll be the first to admit that I'm skeptical. I'm trying it out so that you do not have to

I'll get cobby to answer your second concern regarding the email addresses.

It's just something cobby and I set up...We'll probably get some people to help moderate the forums, but we didn't really need a huge force to do all the planning and getting started

Heh, I just took an AP US Government test, so naturally the first thing coming to my mind is "Ryan v. Cobby."

Anyway, this is a great idea, I'm really not sure how this mass content thing would work, as both of you are making great arguments for it. I'm definitely interested to see how this turns out.

Made for Adsense...Basically a website that is put up, has little valuable content, often auto-generated content similar to this, has Adsense ads placed on it, and it sits there and waits on visitors from Google to make revenue. They're looked down upon by most webmasters because they add no real value to the internet and are often less-than satisfactory results for the searcher/visitor.

Like I said, you can definitely create a MFA type website using cobby's services, but that is not my intention...Whether or not we can do this without that "MFA" feel, I don't know, but that's why I'm trying it out...I want to see whether or not this content can be used for good purposes. I'll report whatever results we get in the end.

Auto-updating blogs are often MFA. You know those crappy websites with horrendous designs, 100's of redistributed articles, and 4 Adsense blocks on each page? Those are often MFA.

ok so you guys are serious about moderating ill put your name down. Also why dont we let everyone decide ryan, what the topic will be. I think we should let the public be the deciders. So to let you know the broader the topic the easier for the autogenerated posts. So if we do a resident evil site, well have to do autoposts in the first person shooter area or something like that.
