As a member, I do this too.

I also think it's good to have on because it lets your members know that somebody else is in the forums...Even if you only have 2 people in your Who's Online list at a time, I think it's better to have that than now Who's Online list at all. If you average 0-1 people in Who's Online...then you may want to turn it off while you're still building traffic.

those stats are for the admins really. But the members sometimes want to know whether the admins are online or not.

If a join a forum, i best it on content more then how many members there are or post. as long as some one will respond to my most in relative time.

I have it enabled on my forum for staff only.

On another forum I visit it has caused problems amongst the members because they spy on it each other and it creates arguements.
