Well, what I'd recommend that you do is think long and hard about this. Why did you create it, when your plan now is just to close it and give up? Sounds like to me you just want to flat out giveup because you don't want to run them...

I had the same feeling before when times were rough, but then I thought to myself. Why would I give up on something that I love and care about when the users haven't done anything wrong to me to make decide to say "fuck it" and make them chose a new home?

Why's that? What if the owner doesn't care, and doesn't wish to do anything? That'll hurt the members more than closing.
