Requirements before creating a new forum in your community?

Normally I would suggest waiting until you see a decent number of existing threads that would fit nicely into a new category. That way you can establish a new category, move these threads over and have instant content. Members often ask for new categories but have no intention of populating them with content. If many of your members are adamant that they want a new category on a given subject, I would suggest you run it on a trial and make it clear that it has a limited amount of time (perhaps a month) to be proven as a valuable and useful addition to the forum.

I also intend to perform a activity audit every 3 months to see how they are doing against current forums. | ||||

| Title: Groupie Join Date: Jun 2006 Posts: 48 Location: Hattiesburg, MS ![]() | Well, in my case, the members wanting it flooded my forum anyway. Other people joined in because the topics were there. So, I had to make the new forums. | ||||
