Starting up a gaming forum (Wii Related)

So with all my TV forums going on a break due to the show going on a break I figured I needed something that would have new content all year around. I decided to make a forum about something I like alot. My Nintendo Wii, so I went out bought a very clever domain WiiToMii .com and started setting up a site. I am working on skinning it and writing content but I am worried about making it unique. Anyone have any ideas?

There are so many gaming forums out there. I own this video games forum and it is so hard to make any new gaming forum popular nowadays.
Best of luck. You'll need plenty of it.

there are plenty of off-beat stories about incidents with the wii-mote and how people throw them out windows, get hurt etc or how they are used in unusual circumstances - be sure to include these - the wii attracts more than typical gamers - it attracts a larger audience - try to appeal to this broader audience by NOT being a gaming forum - try to emphasize the way in which wii interacts with people rather than just games games games. My two cents.

Indeed, you'll have to find something unique to offer because there are probably a lot of wii forums out there already. I think toucan offers some good suggestions that you should try to appeal to more than just the gamer crowd, because the wii is for everyone (i luv teh wii <3).

I actually think you actually have a really good shot. Of course, you'd have to work for it, there's a huge market for the Wii (it outsells Xbox 360 by 3:1 I think), but not too many forums for it.

Your most important task is going to be staying on top of all of the major games. Make sure that you get all of the big "must play" games and do your homework on them.

Thanks for all of the suggestion guys, I am going through all of them and there are a lot of good ideas. I agree by not making it a gaming forum, but about the Wii itself and its uses

Oh yeah, Gizmodo and Engadget are officially your favorite websites. They have all sorts of third party Wii modifications that are nice to talk about.
