Another forum idea...

I have an idea...

How about I create a mozilla fans forum.

I can have a forum to talk about firefox; add-ons, skins, tweaks, etc. And then another forum for thunderbird; add-ons, skins, tweaks, etc. And then another forum to talk about every mozilla thing...mozilla news, etc.

What do you think? Are you fan enough to talk in a forum about mozilla only?

(And don't forget mozilla is more than firefox/thunderbird, they have mozilla prisma, mozilla gear, sunbird, etc.).

First thing you should do is research the niche.

Clear one that takes first in "mozilla forums" and other related keywords was Home - MozillaZine Forums

It's very active so maybe there is space for another competitor

I don't think there would be room for another competitor to be honest. Open Source groups are notoriously close-knit.

Look over the competition, analyze what they offer and then decide whether or not you'd be able to really provide them with additional benefit.

Starting out new, you'll need to be able to offer something that will attract their attention, pull them over and get them to register.
