Pre-Launch Forum Feedback Please?

I'm interested in what you folks think about my new forum. I just got it together late last night, and I wanted a bit of feedback before i started promoting it hard. This has been a concept that I've had in mind for almost a year now, and I'm finally getting around to putting it together. I am very passionate about the subject, and making the forum successful.

Students with Jobs

What do you think of the concept? The design? All input is welcome.

it may be just me, but i always like a side bar or something on there, it makes the whole site stay together more and your users always know where to go to see the latest posts, do a search, see new advertisers etc. its a good idea, but when do students with jobs have time to post on a forum

It doesn't look bad right now, but I would definitely fill up those empty boards with content and lots of it. You want to give them a reason to come around. They are going to be limited on time as it is so if they can't find the information needed the first time, they might not come back..

I agree with the content comment, before you start promotion have at least a few topics in each forum, try and make some of them inviting to discussion (topics that ask a question to readers) and then promote it like crazy
