![]() So ask yourself; what do you enjoy doing? What do you enjoy watching? Then think about whats already on offer for whatever you enjoy doing/watching and think of a possible USP (Unique Selling Point) for your forum which would attract users to you as opposed to competition. Think it all through - where you want to be headed, what you have to do in order to get there, perhaps consider trying to get a BETA group together and then get the ball rolling dude and get your site on the net! ![]() Hope that helped... | |

![]() | iv made forums about everything i enjoy and theres already ones about what i enjoy. Thats probably why they never work. This time i want to think outside the box, so to speak, and do something different. As for getting a BETA group set up, Could you explain more on that idea please, as i dont understand. Thanks Jake

![]() ![]() | Well theres always another site about well - everything really - its just all about making your site worthwhile. Nobodys just going to come to your site, who currently already use another site, to simply do the same things... or to be offered the same services. It comes back to what i mentioned before - a Unique Selling Point. Most people enjoy the community aspect that sites create. In terms of a BETA group - by that i mean a small number of like minded people to assist in the development of your site. How involved they are, in terms of actual development, or if theyre just involved in testing, or brainstorming or whatever really is really up to you, but the idea is that you get your site up to standard, and ready for the public before being open to the public. You would be in a period of 'BETA' for however long you want, some last weeks - while others can last years. The size of the team would also depend on you. Like a BETA test of a game - where a select group of people get to play the game before its released in an effort to get rid of any bugs and make sure everythings working fine. These BETA members could easily then form the basis of any first incarnation of a site team; moderators, writers, designers etc and help to build, guide and develop your site - or community. Ive always found that having other people their with you from the start makes it much much easier to preverbially get the ball rolling... Erm... i think thats all i needed to say... or is it? -- Its late! and i confuse myself... Anyway - hope that was of help |

![]() | Well at the moment its a fashion forum, with an area for members to request items. We then go out and find these items ( or nearest we can ) and post the items with price and link to the site. This then gets a good, active forum and a USP ( online personal shopping, which i already do for another forum im a member on.) Ill need to brainstorm more untill i decide wether or not to persue this.

![]() | Ryan wrote a good article, which can be found here. Check that out, might stir some thought processes.
