Question Questions for IPB Customers re adult content

Hi all, this is my first post. I'm planning to launch a new adult content board in the near future.

I'm not sure what plugins, etc. I should get when I purchase the IPB software, so I hope to get feedback from current IPB customers before talking to a sales rep. Here's the criteria for the board:
  • I expect to have approx 10,000 users to start on an adult content board, I hope to expand quickly via aggressive marketing (no spamming, just Google Adsense and banner exchanges ). Eventual membership up to 300,000-500,000 not unrealistic, from what I've seen on other adult content boards.
  • Due to the adult nature of the board, it will need to be easy for me and the mods to spot and temp/perma-ban ToS violators (people posting CP or copyrighted images/videos).
  • Besides the forums, I want to provide members their own homepages and blogs.
  • Free membership will allow viewing and up/down-loading of images.
  • Paid subscription will allow viewing and up/down-loading of videos.
As you've probably guessed, I've never administered an online forum. Unfortunately, the guy who does know this end of the project bailed out on me yesterday. However, I do have good software skills so I'm going to teach myself how to do this. Any and all advice and comments will be very much appreciated.

Thanks!

IPB is a awesome forum software. It is very to administrate in the frontend as well as the backend. Your mods/admins will have no trouble with it.
IPB can manage a huge amount of users.

example sites:
GameReplays.org - RTS fansite and forums. Replays, strategies and tournaments for Age of Empires 3, BfME, BfME 2, Zero Hour, Generals, Act of War and Empire at War
Neowin.net - Where unprofessional journalism looks better
MixUpload - The Largest DJ Promotion, DJ Community Network

IPB should let you use you forum to talk about anything that is legal.

Not sure on how you expect to get the user ration you have stated unless you know several other webmasters that can hook you up with links. Also it helps to have a DB of content that you can post on a site that you think can get this many hits.

How do I know? well lets say I started an adult site and already had links, and had content.

You wont reach where you think you can through google or banners. It takes knowing others that have already done this to get to where you want to be.

You need to do some research on what is not allowed and what laws apply to your site depending on what state you live in and where the site is hosted.

Good suggestions, thank you. I'm currently researching the appropriate laws, and the Caymen Islands look promising for the host location.

Thanks for the advice, folks, more would be great!

Dustin will become famous soon enough
I am not sure how you expect to get 10,000 users to start with?

What kind of content will you have?

The reason why I ask is because the majority of online adult communities that I have come across share copyrighted material (images and videos). The only "legal" content I see being acceptable is amateur pictures and videos.

Just curious.

@Dustin: To clarify, I don't expect to see that from day one, but my research suggests that I should use it as a baseline when planning the site. I'd prefer not to go into any more detail at this time, however.

@Chris: Sorry, this is also a subject I'm not going to discuss atm, beyond stating that the site will be of an adult nature. I'm not trying to be cryptic, I just don't want to give anything away to potential competitors.

@Chris: lol, I'll be shouting from the rooftop about the site when it's ready, so that won't be a problem!
