Question Young Adults forum

Im thinking about starting a forum for young adults to chat on, somewhere safe on the internet for them to chat to eachother.

We will have areas for sex education chat / help , drug help and other usefull help information.

i have two questiong i would like to ask here.

1) what do you think a good forum for young adults should have and things it shouldnt?

2) should i set up any special security measures incase of peodophiles or perverts or just keep an eye open for anything suspicious?

Thanks

Jake

It seems a good idea. Although your title and your actual post is a bit miss matched. "Adult" is usually around 16-18, 21 in some countries & States. But your post makes it sound like you're talking about children or teenagers?

Anyway, for you questions;
You need something that will keep the members there. Possibly an arcade, chatbox or some other sort. You should try covering many topics that a young "adult" may want to talk about.

As for the second one, you shouldn't really take extra special measures, just make sure any staff (and yourself) know when something seems suspicious and keep your eyes open. If you're operating in the USofA, you should probably comply with COPPA for under 13s. (If your state uses it, I'm not sure on how COPPA works. I'm British )

thanks for the reply, Jolteon.

I, also, am british.

The forum will be targeting roughly from 16 y/o to about 21.

This sounds like a good idea and if I was you I would go ahead with it. Would it be targeted for people living in Britain or people from any country? If so you may find it hard to keep a range of discussions going because of culture differences.
