Arrow Talk vBulletin

Hi folks,

I have decided to develop talkvbulletin.net. I have the hosting (I'm trying out AirborneFive to see what they are like) and obviously I have the domain. I tried to get the .com but it's been parked so I have the .net, .org and .info TLDs.

I might sell this website after it's been developed and after it has a decent member base and content, but that depends on my time commitments. Meanwhile, the website needs to generate some revenue.

Other than having the forums for vBulletin discussion, an auction house and tutorial/article section, I am not sure what to do with the website.

So, ideas/feedback would be appreciated.

OS Master will become famous soon enough
There are quite a bit of forums about vBulletin, include vB.org.

I would take a look at your competition, and see what you can do. I would recommend making your own mods and releasing them on your website. This will attract activity and you could develop a community that way.

I am 95% sure you cannot copyright a domain name. I don't see any problem with you using that web address.

I don't think there will be a TM issue, unless he starts abusing the vbulletin name.

You may not be able to directly trademark a domain, however, you can trademark the company name/wording.

Given that, there are multiple vBulletin websites that use vBulletin within their websites title and vBulletin allows them to use it freely so long as it's not damaging to their company or their company image.

For the last time, I'm female!

Anyway back on topic.

I don't think there's going to be a problem with my domain. If vBulletin wants to "persuade" me then they can pay a hefty sum for it!

Talk vBulletin isn't going to be damaging to Jelsoft or vBulletin in any way, shape or form.

I feel lucky because it's a really good domain, just wish the .com was up for grabs but who knows?

I have the idea of implementing an auction house for this website but I'm looking on vB.org for auction add-ons. Have any of you tried vBay? If so, what did you think of it?

very nice domain. i think something helpful would be tutorials that not too many places offer so that you increase your stickiness. You could put the topics in you sigs on other forums or digg them. Do something to stand out in general that no one else has

you can copyright a work and if the work is in the domain name and the domain is then confusingly similar they can snatch it from you through icann

confusingly similar means that the domain is question through the sites contents or domain itself may lead someone to believe it is associated with the copyright holder.
