How about region/cities forum?

Hi,

This is my first post, so be gentle
I already run a forum, so I know how difficult is to get success.
I have some ideas to start a new one.

How about a region/city forum (non English)?

The idea is to create a board for each region and inside each region the cities.
Each city will be added as soon as it gets some topics, except the big one.

The talk will be about politic, local economy, schools, social live, etc ...

Theres no other forum like this in my country.

What do you think?

Thanks

It will be even harder since your targeting only a certain region of the world, less people.

But it would be fun having a chat with people around your place.

I'd go for it nfn!

My country is as biggest (population) as NYC.
Do you think is difficult to grow?
Where can I advertise this king of forum?

Delaware has 853,476 people, a lot let i think then NYC and my site does ok, you should be good.

Just get a bunch of friends to help you start it and spread the word, it will start to grow. Then try and find sites or forums related to your area and start advertising there.

nfn, do you guys have local newspaper? Try advertising a spot on there. I'm sure you would get decent amount of members from there. Then, if this works start hitting up other towns in your state and do advertise on their local papers.

You could also start posting YouTube videos and talk about city news, what's new, nice places, any events, or something..

Well to start it off, just get some content then worry about members.

Hi Garala,

Thanks for your tips
I'm this by my self at this time and I will get some feeds from each district to start having content.

What categories should I have for each district?
Politics, Culture, Social, Economy ...
