There are currently 260 users browsing EuphoricArythmia.com.

I have been online for four months. I use shared hosting but it's actually more of a limited shared hosting. Unlimited bandwidth/disk space. My server load averages NEVER go over 1%.
I have great support and they always respond minutes after I submit a ticket. I pay $24.95 a month.

Now, if it ever gets to the point where I need the next level, I go to $89.95 a month.

I have no ads on my site.Get enough donations/subscriptions to more than cover server costs. I REFUSE to use ads.
just curious - what company do you use for you hosting?

Seems like a lot of activity for such a young board and small member count. How are you achieving that?

In my personal opinion I think the correct answer to whether we should develop boards to be big is yes. The most important thing to do though is to stay ahead of the game. You need to not only be taking an active role in the running of the website and forum, but also looking at ways to cut costs and improve the way that things are done. They should all be given similar levels of priority because if you don't you will find yourself in a situation where you have to play catch up and this is where you can find yourself in a sticky situation and find it costing you more and more money.

what you say is incredibly important. the site owners must take an active role participating OR have great staff that does the same in my opinion. without that type of participation things normally get way way out of control and becomes counter productive.

What I was trying to highlight in my post though is that it is very easy to think that the only important task is to be posting and general running of the forum ie moderating posts and users. However it is also vitally important to ensure that you are looking at ways of making your forum better and cheaper to run.

I agree with that 100%. Like in any business, you must always be evolving, innovating, and willing to make changes for the overall good of the community is key.

This is exactly what I was hinting at. The fact that forums, whether created for profit or not, are in fact businesses, which should be treated as such. A forum offers services to it's users, who are the customers. Therefore if it is not treated like a business they can fail.

You have to start planning what to do before your site is big. If it takes some savings, donations, how much per month you could be needing. Start collecting the money before the big hit comes
