Social Network Site?

Is there any good scripts around?

I'd be looking at setting a website up like Bebo/MySpace......

There are only two social networking softwares that I am aware of dolphin by boonex & phpfox. Btw I hear phpfox is very server intensive.

Thanks, I've had a look at boonex and that seems too much for what I actually need. PHPfox looks very good, however way out of my price range, budget is roughly $75 for the script, I have the domain and hosting ready

If you don't have a niche i would say dont bother. Know too many sites out there going on "a network of friends" with nothing but dead profiles.

I use PHPFox, not very server intensive as said before, dont know where that came from i have plenty of other domains on the server and nothing interferes. The only thing i can see killing the server is streaming vids, music, cams, but thats going to be the case no matter what you got.

Don't bother with free scripts. If you're going to do any customization, you are going to need support. Unless you have good programming knowledge, then by all means. I mod the hell outta my sites so i get alot of conflicts.

Phpfox doesnt have the best support, not gonna lie, but if you bitch at em long enough they eventually get back to you, there is also a good community there as well and a lot of modders. Whatever you go with, make sure there is a good community you can turn to for help. Just make sure you input as much as output. Nobody wants to help out a hit and run modder.

It is unique and not like myspace (like all the others forming up). Make it more unique and I think people are more likely to join it!

Handshakes is really nice but a little pricey. They also have tons of cheap clone scripts out there.

Social Site Generator - Social Networking Software

They have a nice exactly like myspace script. You can check out the demo. But again it is somewhat pricey. But hey you get what you pay for.
