  | Planning Before When creating a forum, do you plan it thoroughly before creating it? Or do you take things as they come and make adjustments according to the members etc. |

| obviously you need to have some sort of plan. like the niche, categories, layout But you also obviously need to be ready to change things a little depending on the feed back you get from your users

| So really, some basic planning is needed. And nothing else? As you said, yeah it does matter about what the members think. |

   | I think planning is one of the most important steps in starting a forum. You shouldn't just jump in, I like to have pretty much everything laid out before I even buy the domain or install the software. Either in my head or on a piece of paper.

| Which do you find easier to work from then? Paper or from ideas in your head? Have you ever had problems with your plan? |

| I usually like to write stuff down because sometimes I'll be thinking of an idea, go off and do something, and come back later and forget my idea. ;o
