![]() | its best to have friends in your niche, it seems a forum needs seeder to come in and start a GOOD topic, then let all the lurkers finally jump in and make a comment. otherwise the lurkers just click around afraid to post |

![]() | I agree with the poster above me, contests are a great way to get people to sign up and post. I am currently organising one for my webmaster forum. Creating a few (2 or 3) fake users and posting with their accounts can also help to make the forum look more active. Once you have enough users you can gradually "fade out" these fake users. |

![]() | Yes. you *have* to have other people, more than likely friends, come in and *make* content for the site. Kinda mix stuff up, get it all going.

| Apprentice ![]() | One thing I do before launching a forum is get post exchanges from about 4 to 6 people and get some posts on the forum so that I have posts to add to, then it give new members something to discuss as well
