If you come forward as very professional, the applications you receive will tend to be the same..."tend to" being the key term. There will always be people apply who cannot perform the job...it is your job to pick them out. I would suggest reading this article if you haven't done so already. You also might want to take a look at an example of one of our past job threads. You won't need to be this formal for teen forums, but it shows you how your approach can go a long way.

When you're forced to go with somebody you don't know, there are definitely some things you can do to help ensure that things go over smoothly...most importantly taking formal applications, doing a little background research on the person, and easing them into the job...instead of giving them full responsibilities from the start.

| Title: Rookie Join Date: Apr 2006 Posts: 18 ![]() | I currently hire people outside of my own forums, People who I know from other places or people my friends know as thrustworthy. So far I can only say that the people that have applied fo the jobs I've opened up are doing a great job, and sometimes even better then the moderators I've already had. Mostly because the people that originaly come to my forum still have to learn the basic's and the people that apply for the job openings -weird to refer to it as a job- already have past experiences with forums. | ||||
