| Title: Rookie Join Date: Nov 2007 Posts: 26 ![]() | awesome post I've just started my first forum - the presentation of the article was great and very helpful. There is a lot of competition in the world of the video game forum and I've noticed a lot of the "competition" have contests and giveaways - where do they get Wii's and XBox360's to give away? Getting the first people to join the site is challenging and I was thinking about following this type of incentive program... Anyone have that kind of previous background? | ||||

| Title: Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Posts: 72 ![]() | A great resource thanks for this. In fact I've printed your post off and am starting to tick each of the things off! I think it's also worth noting that it's important to try and make your website sticky so that this new traffic stick around. No good getting thousands of extra visits a day if they don't do anything but give you server strain ![]() Making your site sticky is easier if you're in a niche with no or little competition, but try and do things to keep them coming back by having nice features. The vB arcade hack is good - but we've also introduced a FREE sms texting service for registered users. This has proved really popular so far. Does anyone else know of nice features to add on? | ||||
