Create Google Sitemap without using Sitemap generator

I know that you can create a Google Sitemap using Sitemap generator, but can you also create it without using Sitemap generator?

Not as far as i know. Depending on which BB software you use, you may find that there is a mod to integrate the Sitemap generator into your forums.

Do you know if phpBB has such a mod? Also how about vB?
