Portals (Act 2)

Right, a few of you might remember a thread on portals by the one and only me.
I distincly said i wouldnt bother, then i discovered vBadvanced CMPS (Content Management & Portal System), and i am wondering if anyone has used this, and can tell me if its usefull, or should i look for something better?, usst a noote, it would be used on my forum ForumChunkies

I was thinking that the layout could be easily used to incorporate a block of Adsense ads, (maybe 2)

Thanks alot

(Sorry if i should have dug up my old thread)

vBadvanced is indeed an excellent CMPS. Clean, easy to use, and feature rich.

Do portals annoy anyone else?

If I'm a regular member at a site with a portal, I just bookmark the forums so I can bypass the portal.

Maybe not annoy, but if there isn't really a content driven site, I just ignore it. Like when AF used to have a portal, I'd just go straight to the forums. I think most people just put one up for the sake of having it there, not that they actually need it.

Edit: Whoops almost forgot about the original topic. Captain Kirk, I can't really see why your site needs a portal, especially since there really isn't anything there, except a huge link to the forums.
