When emotions are running high, people often do some crazy things. Basically he's just looking for the best way to let someone go without stirring up a lot of drama. Really, be as nice as possible. Explain why you are letting him go, and hope for the best. | ||||

I also agree that you need to be friendly in letting them know like the others said, but you also need to look professional.
