Finding Staff?

I'm looking for a couple of moderators for my forums http://wiispin.com/forum, but i'm not sure where I should be looking to find staff for my forum. Any advice?

Personally I think the best place to look for staff is inside your community because they know the community the best. But if no one is suitable for the job, then yes, here at AF is a good place to start looking outside of the community.

I agree that you should try and get your staff from your community but I guess you can try looking here. Since you have a gaming forum I would try looking at other Nintendo forums.

Yep, look inside your community first...see if you know of anybody or can pick out anybody in your community would would make a good moderator. If so, ask them in private...if you don't know of anybody, you can either ask for people to apply in your forums, or you can ask elsewhere (such as here at AF). We've got a pretty good article on finding staff here that you might be interested in.

Oh, and in order to hire people here at AF, you'll need to be here 2 days and have 10 posts first...then you may do so in the appropriate forum in the Marketplace

Definitely. Best place to start. And if nobody at the forum is acceptable, an admin-based forum would be an alternative. However, even at that, I wouldn't hire someone off an admin forum unless I did my homework on them and have been familiar with their postings, etc. at the admin forum. I'd really have to have been checking the person out for a while.

i can be a moderator as i am very much into gaming..

First promote the forum as much as you can and try to get as many member.. advertise for it and keep some rewards for posting.. then see who is posting more .. just select him.

I agree. And if you can't find someone there, well, your forum must not be ready to take on additional staff members. You'd be better off running the show yourself.

I wouldn't bring on a third-party person.

i think you should promote from within. On my forums if a member is very loyal and active, i know they'll be a great moderator and it'll actually mean something to them.

I'd never recommend making friends moderators because they usually tend to feel special and can do whatever they want and abuse the powers.

Promote from within
