Interesting Twist to Global Moderator

I saw on another forum today, an interesting twist on the definition of 'Global' moderator - generally this means a moderator who can moderate all forums. However, this forum means global moderators as in moderators who are from different parts of the world.

What do you defines Global Moderator as?

I think Global here doesn't have geographical implications I use global as mods who are allowed to mod the entire board ...

on my board, and to my understanding, Global Moderator is someone who moderates the entire board.

That IS what a global moderator is Personally, I've always prefered the term "Super Moderator."

Yep, the term refers to their reach across the forums...which is 100%.

That said, having staff in different time zones and particularly in other parts of the world, is a very good idea. This way coverage is more even...you don't want all of your staff sleeping at the same time, because then your forums are not being moderated for extended periods of time. If you have moderators all over the world, you're more likely to have staff on at all times.
