How do i handle administrators breaking the rules?

In my forum the administrators aren't following the rules. I feel as though they think that just because they are an administrator of the board that they can do what ever they please. In my forum we have something known as a warning system. And my admins had them out left and right mean while they are breaking rules. We have one rule no posting in CAPS and they seem to post in caps very often. I mean i don't know how i should handle them breaking the rules. Should i reprimand them in front of the other members, do it in the moderators room, do it in the conference room, by private message? I just feel like administrators should be held to a higher standard because we should know the rules of the forum and set a good example for our members. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

The only advice people are going to give you is the obvious kind. Warn them, fire them. The first step you should take is warning them. Exactly how many administrators do you have anyways? I see so many forums nowadays with up to like eight or twelve administrators sometimes more. Make sure you let your administrators know that them being a staff member is a priviledge. And exactly what have they done to deserve this spot? All they seem to be doing is disobeying rules. If anything all they should get is a moderator or super moderator position. Unless they are recruiting members like crazy and making the forums super active that's when they should become an administrator. Otherwise they shouldn't be.

I would give them one or two warnings before firing them. You shouldn't have hired any of them in the first place however. Good luck with this!

I would advise against a visual warning system, as it will definitely reflect poorly on your forum overall. Just remind them they should be setting an example, and follow their own rules.

We have 5 Administrators including myself 3 of them are not a problem its just 2 of them that think they can just do what ever they want to do. My forum is for a television show. And i mean if somebody disagrees with them on an opinion they jump right on top of that member for disagreeing with them. I really dont know. I can't really fire them because they are "founding members" I just feel like i am running out of options here. I mean what really makes me angry is the attitude that they have with members and other admin staff. I dont know if i should post something in the Moderator Chat explain what is and isnt acceptable.

Well then explain to them it's ultimately your decision. You have to do what's right for the community and the future of your forums. Administrators and moderators should not get special exceptions to common forum rules. It only creates unrest and resentment within the members, which can lead to a battle.

Just keep them in check, and make sure they know they are expendable. Lot of people let positions like administrator and moderator go to heir heads. They think they're untouchable.

That's why you should always pick experienced members who have been part of the community for a long as admins. If they don't spam when they're regular members for several months, they won't spam as admins.

However, as a solution to your problem, the only thing you can really do is warn them.

One thing is for sure...you can't continue to let them get away with these things. You've got to, at the least, remove/fix any of their violations and let them know, in private that just because they are administrators does not make them exempt from the rules. They have got to both enforce and follow the rules. If they don't do this, they are out...You are the head administrator, so it is ultimately your decision to make...and you can't have other administrators who are disrespectful to you and don't follow the rules.

I didn't hire them. I am the new Network Manager of the forum. And they are used to getting away with alot of things. But i really want to change the way things are being run.

I know that i cant allow them to continue on breaking the rules. I am thinking about posting an Announcement in the Moderator Room (only staff members have access) That would say like All Staff members need to follow the rules. But i need a different way of putting it. Anyone have any ideas.
