As for happy banning admins .. let them be. I am an active user as you can see, so I think any forum would have to benefit from having me there. If they don't know how to behave, there are thousands of nice forums I can join ..

I am not quick to ban .. unless we're talking about a spammer. Or someone who mistreats my mods. If not, I am pretty forgiving

i was never banned from that place you all are talking about. course i never visit either.

um, i have been banned at many sites for alot of different reasons. Either banned for being the competition on a rival nextel/cell phone forum. Or joining a gang of mercenaries on a attack on a forum that banned a friend unjustly (that was fun, yup i am banned forever from howardforums.com for that )

few other reasons too, but i do have a good name on the nextel forums, so i get a good bit of leeway

I am not one to ban unless it is for a serious problem. If I demote a staff member they are free to remain as a regular member provided they abide by the rules and don't step out of line. I think banning your competition is kind of petty really. I prefer to let my competion see what is going on. If I'm doing better then they are then hopefully they can pick up some tips to better their own site and likewise for myself. Just because we are on the internet behind a computer does not really mean we can act like spoiled children when we are suppose to be responsible admins or webmasters who should be setting an example for our board members so they can in turn be responsible members who are a joy to have around and who we have no problem recommending to or sending to another forum. Working together in any kind of forum community makes that community stronger and helps to give the whole forum community a longer life. Sooner or later what goes around comes around and they will be saying "what did I do that was so wrong to have my site bomb and have everyone not visit any longer while the rest of the community thrives and grows.

i do only ban if spammers or people who behaving bad but usually i do suspend members for 1 week then i unban them - the recent one was staff swearing to me - i had no choice to put suspend on him

If one of my staff members began swearing at me, I would skip the suspension process, and demote them. IMO, when you are a member of the team, you shouldn't even have to be told to respect not only your fellow members, but the person who gave you the position in the first place.

I was banned from TAZ something over a year ago. Well, actually, I was put on Tachy Goes To Coventry. I didn't understand since no reason was given to me - no warning - I hadn't broken any rules I knew of and also I don't tend to be a jerk on the forums I post on.

I was and am critical of the TAZ site because it sucks. Maybe that's why - maybe they check the other sites (AF, DP, SP) to see what folks are saying about them then figure out who is who and ban or tachy you if yo are not singing their praises.

Whatever. Not a huge loss. AF is 10 times better anyway.
