ban-happy admins

Well today I signed into a site I was a member of - to find I was banned.

Apparently the admin got pissed because I was the owner of a competing forum. He said I was banned because I posted "his link" somewhere - which I did, but it wasn't like he owned it (file sharing). His loss, really, cause I was planning on posting on his forum regularly, despite us being competitors.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on admins who are to quick to ban?

Every situation is different..."too quick to ban" is a very relative phrase

That said, I've also ran into the same problem you're describing...I was banned from TAZ (AF's competitor) for no reason...hadn't posted there in months and one day out of the blue, I was banned. That's okay if they're scared

Take it as a compliment - your competitors are in fear of you

Wow, Ryan banned from TAZ... that isn't a surprise.

I was banned from TAZ about this time last year for no reason. I recently joined again but apparently I did something he didn't like again because he banned my newest account but another one I have isn't banned. I think The Sandman is extremely ban happy because my friends at vB-FAQ also admit to being banned from TAZ for no reason. Yeah, he must like banning. He also thinks it's cool to redirect banned users to a page called "mainpagewelcome.php" with nothing on it. Is he trying to trick us or something? I give up there...

The only ppl I ban are the spammers, their post don't even make it to the public view

I did ban a user that had a 100 or so post, because he started talking about waraz and priacy and I can't have that on the forum.

I'm not going to jail for some members post..lol

Yeah I was banned there too. Not sure why.

the sandman confused me with someone else, but didn't want to take the time to un ban me and get the real person..lol oh well, their lose

When Ryan said he was banned I was surprised but at the same time I wasn't because who isn't banned from there? Then when Adam said he was I thought "wow." Now I know every new post in this thread will be about how they're banned and I'm prepared for it when I come in here, lol.

I guess someone really is ban happy...
