Moderators VS Super Moderators

What do you use? Forum specific moderators, or super mods? Why?

Personally, I don't see why people don't just appoint a few super mods rather than a load of forum specific mods. The latter never really seems to work that well, from what I've seen.

I use my mods as super mods but the single forum mods can come in very handy in some cases, im about to form a partnership with a french guy and hes basically going to look after the little french forum...

So i can just have him modding that forum rather than all the rest

In most cases I think just using super mods is better. The only time I would use regular mods is in a gigantic forum where there is enough activity to justify that much staff.

i think of s. mods as enforcers (security)
i think of mods as workers

my s. mods ar there to moderate arguments or clean spam, move/delete posts etc.

my mod is there to create content and post the news in the news section, basically a reporter. he doesn't really do the stuff the s. mods do.

I used to use both. Actually, my biggest forums have Administrators, Super Moderators, Moderator +'s, and Moderators. But nowadays I like to have just Administrators and Super Moderators (but I call them Moderators.)

I use both. I like using both because sometimes my smods can't watch over the whole place so I have mods in the very active sections to make sure everything goes very smooth.

I prefer using only super moderators, but just calling them moderators. I think super moderators is a bit conceited

I use both moderators and super moderators, as well. I like to think of super moderators as, "limited administrators", or in other words, staff members who are responsible for watching over the board in general, and not just one or two forums specifically. Lastly, a moderators responsibility on the board is to specifically monitor + moderate one, two, or more boards. This way, IMO, it keeps a nice balance.

I pretty much only use Super Moderators.

I do have one or two moderators but they're for a specific task - not actually to moderate. (they run a weekly contest in which they must move/stick threads and such).
