Agreed, Moelman. However, that doesn't mean that banning shouldn't be well documented and regulated.

Either way, a moderator's job is to enforce the rules, now how can one be expected to do that without some sort of powers to maintain order?

Oh I agree. Before the infraction system I made my mods write a report with the user banned, who banned them, the reason, and duration if it was a temp ban. Now they just use the infraction system and fill in the admin notes.
