On one hand, I say take 'em off, (s)he's staff. But on the other, if they're there to help, then they may be interested in something in the ad, and wouldn't mind clicking.

If I had a bunch of pop-ups, pop-unders, or those bright flashing ads, that might be another story...but banners and text links are not at all distracting. In fact, as RM said, staff may sometimes be interested in the ads - I know that on more than one occasion, I've looked into the products that our advertisers offer.
