Whenever I can I just use my real name. For some reason, I feel more integrity having my name as 'Cole' or 'Cole2026' than 'r19h7h4nd3d' or something along those lines.

I used my real name, actually don't know why originally, but I'm glad I did at this point. On a gaming forum, for instance though, I probably wouldn't. It's all about the environment.

I usually use a screen name but I have a few that I am known by such as Silver Firefly, G3MM4, DeathByPixels etc. I only use my real name on one forum.

I use Crystal Shards (my first name is Crystal, but obviously my last is not Shards). It's more personal than "Administrator."

Definatly use my real name, Although i have to say i do have the user Administrator that i sometime use to make a massive announcement, if your personal with your board you will get the odd one or two that will loose respect, so when a 'Administrator' Steps in to have a word they then re look at the situation.

I always use my real name because I think it makes the forum seem friendlier and that the posters are real people and they make the community closer.

My least favourite thing is to call the admin "admin", nicknames are better but still not as personal.

Wink

But you have to have a strick ruling, and if you become friendly with a certain User then he/she break the rules its the worst situation to be in, No -one likes Dictating to their friends, so i Use the Administrator user to keep as a backup to make sure they know where the line is and just because they are my friend, doesn't mean they can Start to Mess around with the Board or skip Rules.

I find that most people who use Admin as their handle are just doing it for kicks - it's a power/ego thing.

Of course, if you only use it in extreme cases like the one you've described then that's not the same thing.
