If it's a friend who doesn't mind, I tend to just let them go if they lost interest. They'd likely hear a lot about the forum here and there from me anyway.

However, useally I PM or email them after a fair amount of time. Asking if they're still interested or if I can help. If they have real life problems or are moving, it's fine.
