Paying your staff?

I'm just curious if anybody here pays their staff team.
I'm thinking about doing so but not sure if it's a good idea.

No, I don't. I think you can usually find dedicated members who want to volunteer without being paid.

We do it for some staff members here at AF, depending on the work being done (developing), but for your typical administration, moderation, etc., I think that it's almost always better to find volunteer staff.

It saves you money, and honestly, you will probably be more likely to find people who are on staff because they want to be, not because they're getting paid for it.

Nah i wouldn't pay staff on a forum, no need as Ryan has said perfectly.
Maybe pay staff for a website, like organising an interview with a band in my case or constantly add band biographies to the list etc.

I don't pay my staff but I do like to show my appreciation and treat them to a small gift at Christmas

Same here, but I only do this for the upper staff not the entire staff. I would be broke if I bought for everyone

How much do you pay them if you don't mind sharing????
You must be making some money to afford to pay your staff members!

Currently, I do not make my staff members because I don't have any.

no i dont and wouldn't

although im thinking of sharing some profits with a friend i have admin'ing the PA site i have. I am not from PA and don't want members to think im a fake. So he is the admin there, and he does a great job is very active and even buys promotional materials for the site. so i figure least i can do is share some profits with him.

I voted no. I find the concept of paying forum staff to be retarded.
