Incentives

Do you provide staff with incentives to do good work, or just for helping the community? On my new forum i will be giving a domain or something else for good work, and that they have been part of the community for a few months.

I was just curious what other incentives forum owners have offered.

Haven't done any thing for them till now, though they have been great and have supported the community quite well. I am thinking of getting them a new year gift, but can't figure out what to give.

Not when they are earning more than you and have known you personally for over 5 years!

Then i doubt that they will need any inecentive to help the community more, a thanks for there efforts would probably go along way.

Yeah, I'm a believer in rewarding staff with incentives, not guaranteed pay...For the most part, admin and mod positions should be voluntary. There are exceptions when the person is doing "real labor", not just moderating posts, answering questions, etc.

We have paid our staff members in the past for extra work that goes beyond your typical administration and moderation. We've also given out Christmas presents before.

I've gotten my staff t-shirts and hoodies for Christmas. I have also made them business cards with their name and the site name along with it. It was a really nice design and they really enjoyed them.

We have recently implemented a deal for staff members of my sports site. Basically, you work for free for us right now but are rewarded with an all expense paid vacation once a year to a destination of mine and my partners choice. You have to have worked on the site for at least 6 months to be eligible.

P.S. No there is no openings
