Retiring Admin

I've been thinking that since there's only two admin that really do anything on our board, that we should designate them as retired. One works 11 hours a day and the other will be moving and won't be around much anymore. Have you used this designation on your board before and if you have, what permissions did you use and did you give any special perks? Any help would be appreciated.

If they're not contributing anymore than I would probably knock them down to registered member permissions and maybe give them a special username for retired staff or something. No reason to give private forum access, etc to someone who's not going to use it.

I wouldn't even do that. If they aren't around and able to do their share, then they either need to be a regular staff member or a registered user.

What we do is make his user color gray, and his title "Retired Staff." Just to show appreciation for the work and help they've contributed in the past.

If i was you i would revoke his admin privilages, and give them a retired staff status, or former staff status. It may also be an idea to allow them access to your admin or your mod forum too - keeping them in an advisory admin role perhaps (if you still merit their opinions ofcourse and think they are trustworthy)? My two cents

I'm a little late on this one, but I would make them a member with regular member permissions.
