You might not agree with them but that fighting should be done in the mods forum.

If as an Admin you remember and act on this then you are a good person. However, that aside... it is vitally important to maintain a good relationship with what I call my "management team". I obviously have a moderators forum, we try to hold conference calls every 6 to 8 weeks, we meet up regularly at the various related events we all attend personally, and I also get everyone together at my place once a year for a specific Strategic Development meeting. It's worked so far...

Personally, I find it best to keep in close contact with my forum members so I am aware of the general feeling and likes and dislikes across the board and always try to urge my staff members to do the same. That way any decision that DOES get made is done with the best interests of everyone in mind and I always, without fail - discuss any decisions with my staff before implementing them.

We have a very strict policy of whichever mod commences an action, he or she is the only one who can deal with it. Only if the Member doesn't get satisfaction from the person dealing with it, in a reasonable time, will I even look at it. I believe it's imperative to give staff the autonomy and the tools needed to perforn their tasks. I'll support them for as long as I believe what they have done is right. However, I would not hesitate to reverse a decision made by them if I felt it to be a wrong decision. Luckily I've had the same team from the start so we all pretty much know what's expected by now. | ||||

The bigger the team, the bigger the chance for an argument. And if moderators have an argument, I'll have a realy bad influence on the entire board.
