Re-naming staff groups

Has anyone ever done this?

Instead of Moderator you have maybe: Community Team.
Instead of Global Mod: Community Manager
Instead of Admin: Owner/Founder

I want to do this with whatever idea I decide to go with, but would it confuse members as to who does what, especially with Community Manager, would they assum he had Admin rights?

Anon,

It's perfectly okay to do this. Members will find out who's who if they get out of line, lol. Besides, the curious ones always ask. So answer them. Also, this is the perfect info for a site-wide announcement.

I've seen this done a lot, actually. "Mod Squad", "Community Leader", et cetera... I really prefer the traditional staff names though.

I have all different names at my site, some traditional, some not. It's whatever you like and what fits your community

I've done this, but I prefer the good ole' traditional names. It's perfectly okay to do it, however.

I've used them sometimes for a non-technical forum. Also for different levels like:
Community Helper
Community Leader
Community Organiser

I guess you could also use them to compliment the theme of your forum.

That's a great idea. Now to think how a Tomb Raider based theme can be implimented into names for staff.

How about Butler instead of Moderator?

That's really good.

If I get names for all groups I will use it.
