I posted this question at the SMF forums yesterday but it takes for freakin' ever to get a response from them half the time, that's the one thing I really don't like about this software. Anyway, I replaced the PM and Profile icons below the usernames in each post with a different image, then I removed the email/website icons from the display template.

Everything went fine accept now the PM icons only show up for some users and not others. I'm not sure what I did wrong. There's doesn't seem to be any pattern on who they show up for and who they don't.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this? I haven't a clue what's going on.

Got it, thanks anyway. Someone at the SMF forums took pity on me and finally answered my question. The Pm icons are back in business.

I removed the parts where the email and website icons were but forgot to 'comment out' certain areas. Easy fix but I never would have caught it myself.

This was the problem code:

There is alot of questions to answer on the support boards. Mainly need to get more people who would be able to answer the questions. I pitch when I have free time I mostly work on mods.

Templates are powerful but harder for people to customize without messing up the forum takes a little bit of php knowledge. Good site for PHP is at http://w3schools.com/php/default.asp

I realize the people at the SMF forums are busy and they do this as volunteers. I'm just an impaitent person, I want things done yesterday which is something I have to work on. It's a carachter flaw.

I came from using PHPbb and you can get an answer within five seconds over there, so this just takes some getting used to for me. I know they do their best. If I knew more tech-type stuff I'd help out too, but as it is I'm pretty busy mucking up my own forums. LOL
