![]() | PHPSESSION in Google Hi, I've noticed that in Google when I do a site:forumurl.com search all the URLs have the PHPSESSION variable on the url. It's not happening in MSN and Yahoo though. Is there any way or mod to stop this happening. I can't find anything useful on the subject online yet. Thanks! Chris |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I am not familiar too much with SMF as I only ever used it briefly in the past. But I am sure there's an SEO mod for it which will get rid of these. You usually don't see session IDs in URLs because you have cookies enabled, but on browsers that don't have cookies enabled [such as Googlebot] these session IDs will appear. Sorry that I can't be of any more help - I'm sure someone who uses SMF will be able to provide a far better answer than me.

![]() ![]() | Use SMF 1.1x, that checks the user agent isn't that of a known spider before putting sessions in the url.

Now the question is: do I wait for fantastico to catch up with the latest version or get off my butt and upgrade it myself? Anyway, that's good to know. | |

![]() ![]() | The package manager only does upgrades between minor releases.

![]() | Thanks guys. Yep, Ben is right. It's saying I have to download to upgrade. Which is okay, I need to cut the apron strings of Fantastico. |
