![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | April 2007 - Talk Delaware April 2007 Forum of the Month Current stats:Final Thoughts (majority opinion of the AdminFusion staff): We struggled this month to come up with a clear highlight or strong point for Talk Delaware. This wasn't because the forums are no good (afterall, they did win FoTM!), but this is because Talk Delaware is so well-rounded. From the design to the topic to the modifications, TD is strong everywhere. The first forum for the first state! Why hasn't anybody done this yet? We're not sure, but TD did get some points for being the only forum dedicated solely to Delaware that we could find. Talk Delaware is still a very young forum, although it is also a very active forum considering the age. It has over 7,500 posts with 30+ members logging in daily and 100+ posts being made daily. Looking at the stats, you would never know that this forum was opened just 2 months ago...in fact, one of our staff members even said "I wish I had this kind of activity!" How can such a small state produce so much activity? (just kidding Delaware )The design and modifications are also a very strong point for Talk Delaware. This skin originally consists of greens and blues, but the colors have been changed quite nicely for a warmer, "homier" feel. The forum icons even have the state of Delaware in them, which is a nice touch. Take a look at the welcome message. It's an image, which is the latest craze it seems, at least here at AdminFusion. Here it is: ![]() Talk Delaware, however, does something that most other forums are not doing. They didn't just stop at converting to an image but have also hyperlinked the appropriate words which makes it nearly impossible for the average user to even realize that the message is in fact an image. To see these links in action yourself, you'll need to visit the forums. The amount of modification that has been done is apparent and almost goes without explanation, but we're going to point out a few things anyways . The forums use vBAdvanced for the front page, an arcade in the forums, a shoutbox in the forums, and Zoints SEO, among other mods. While most SEO'd forums tend to use vBSEO, it is good to see Zoints SEO being used as well. When all is said and done, Talk Delaware has its fair share of mods, but it's not hacked to the gills so that you then lose all perspective of the site.Great job on your new forums, Caddyman! It's great to see young forums growing so quickly, and we hope that yours continue to do so. To discuss and congratulate Caddyman, please go here
