Final Thoughts (majority opinion of the AdminFusion staff):

The Rogue Forums (referred to as "TRF" from here on out ) are a unique set of forums. There are so many general forums out there, and TRF is very close to being one, but we couldn't help but notice that TRF is a general forum with a special twist. From the name to the design to the category/forum layout, TRF is not like most other general forums. TRF has an entire category for Star Wars discussion but the rest of the forums are for general discussion. Setting up a forum like this is a bit unorthodox these days but we were impressed because TRF did this and pulled it off.

The reason we say that they have managed to "pull it off" is because they have reached 63,000 posts in just 8 months. If they continue to grow at this pace, they could very possibly hit 100,000 posts within the first year, and that is a huge accomplishment for any forum. Typically when a forum tries to be too much (a niche and a general form), it will fail, but TRF has managed to avoid this.

The 'welcome back' message deserves mention. Check it out:

This message is very personable and definitely caught our eye. Most forums do not even have a message for this purpose, and even those that do don't often have one that is eye-catching or convincing as this one. Small things like this can really stand out.

Lastly, TRF does not fall short in the modification category. This is an area which is extremely important for any general discussion forum. Without something other than forums and discussion themselves, it is very hard for a general discussion forum to succeed. You need to go the extra step to make yourself stand out, or at least to reach the level of other general discussion forums. At TRF you can play arcade games, you can fill out a daily crossword puzzle, you can read your daily horoscope, you can chat live with members, and you can even listen to a streaming mp3 player!
