According to Comscore stats, Twitter reached over 44 million people in June, 2009

Too bad they still don't have a viable revenue strategy beyond offering custom interfaces to national brands and celebrities. From a personal standpoint I wish that VC's and web 2.0 journalists would realize that large forums have been achieving real-time relevancy and reach for over a decade now. And, unlike Twitter the content is well organized, persistent, and highly relevant from an advertising and user perspective.

Twitter jumped from a few 100,000 rankings in Alexa to about 12 in a matter of 1 year.
